Author: (Littell, Eliakim, ed.) Title: The Museum of Foreign Literature and Science. Vol. XXVI. January to June 1935
Description: Philadelphia, Published by Adam Waldie for E. Littell, 1835. First edition. Half black leather over marbled paper-covered boards. 712 pp. Illus. with 7 engraved plates. Sm. 4to. The Museum of Foreign Literature and Science, started in 1822, was part of a trend in publishing international opinions and reviews both due to growing public interest and because the original copyright holders were often not paid royalties. Aside from the reviews and discussions of English works there were high quality engravings. The Museum merged with the American Eclectic, to form the American Eclectic and museum of literature, science, and art in 1843. Spine a bit brittle and scuffed, boards rubbed, scattered foxing, overall a very good tight copy.
