Though first involved mainly in illustrations for books, Baxter moved on to plates and large prints, but after a quarter of a century of success his methods were eclipse by photography and chromolithography. Head and heel of spine rubbed and creased, spine slightly dulled, very minor spotting to rear board, otherwise a very good copy with owner's name in a neat hand to title page.
