Each volume has bookplate of [ Sir John Holt ] and inscribed '' Bequeathed by Canon William Munane '', each title page inscribed '' exlibris Munane ''. Sir John Hort (1731-1807), English consul-general at Lisbon in 1767. Canon William Murnane, Catholic priest in London, attended Roger Casement on the weeks before his death when he converted to Roman Catholicism.Bound in full period vellum, panelled boards, blind stamped center piece to each board, raised bands. Boards bumped on corners, hinge joints cracked, one joints more substantial cracked, with slighly lifting of vellum, boards sprung, light dust/dirt marking. Generally bindings in good condition. Internally, pages clean. A nice set, in attractive period bindings. Near Very Good.
