Bound in original publishers leather backed [ imitation tortoiseshell or walnut boards ], elaborate gilt tooling on spine, gilt border and design on top board. Boards have some light scrathes or cracking, [ under the varnish ], two corners worn, with some loss. Generally a very attractive binding. Internally, at some time, [ not recently the binding has been recased, binders linen tape along joints, free endpaper has been glued along inner edge of title page, making the inner margin tight. Pages in good clean condition. A nice copy, in a very nice binding. Very Good Plus.
