Collation, each volume has engraved portrait frontispiece, vol 1:xvi+384pp. vol 2:xvi+354pp. vol 3:vi+478pp. vol 4:xxiii+236pp. vol 5:277pp. vol 6:iii+418pp. Bound in full contemporary sprinkled calf, raised bands, gilt tooling. Calf rubbed with some heavy wear loss on head and tail of spines, hinge joints cracked, but all boards holding firm. Internally, no loose pages, portraits have been laid down/mounted, some occasional light worming to margins in vol 1, some light dirt marking to a few blank endpapers, otherwise pages clean and bright throughout. A good clean copy of a rare work, in resonable contemporary bindings. Books measure 13x21cms.A54.
