The backstrip & rear wrap are lacking. The cover is bumped, chipped & lightly soiled. Pages A-D [ads] & 67 pages, including additional ads. Numerous sepia-toned & black-and-white illustrations & pictorial ads. 1 signature is detached with its front edges roughed & chipped. There are tears to the top edge & front edge of page 41 & to the top edges of pages 42-48. There is a piece out of the bottom corner of the last page. The top edges of the pages are rippled, probably from humidity. There is occasional soiling. Fair.

"The Mentor" often highlighted a particular theme and this issue, published three months after Houdini's death, focused on magic and magicians. Among the contents are "Magic Old and New from Paracelsus to Houdini" by Clement King; and articles on Robert Houdin's "Historic Handkerchief Conjuring Feat", "Mesmer the Mesmerist", Count Cagliostro, and tribal magic in Guiana.
