Despite the statement in the title, this "biography" was the first of a series of biographies by this author (under a number of pseudonyms) that were not authorised by their subjects. Netley Lucas was a con man and confidence trickster who spent several periods in prison for various deceptions. Shortly after publishing this work he morphed into an unknown publisher, Albert E Marriott, and published his own semi-fictitious works and those of others. He was responsible for Helen Zenna Smith(actually Evadne Price)'s equally semi-fictitious "Not so Quiet". (see Guardian article by P D Smith dated 12 November 2016).
