Leather on spines is cracked and well worn with loss at base of volume 1, boards are well worn with heavily scuffed corners, all external joints are cracked with the front cover of volume 1 being almost wholly detached, other covers are securely attached, text block binding is sound. Book plate on inside of front cover of Volume 2 "This Book belongs to H Hardacre's Circulating Library, High Street, Hadleigh, Suffolk". Pages are lightly foxed and tanned but are otherwise clean.
