KUKRYNIKSY & A. ARCHANGELSKY
Parodies on Babel, Gladkow, Zoshtchenko, Kluchkov, Olyesha, The Peasant Poet, Tretyakov, Utkin, Shklovsky a.o.
Moscow-Leningrad, Zemlya i Fabrika, 1930. 30 x 22 cm. Original illustrated wrappers. 48 p. Poems by Archangelsky, caricatures by the Kukryniksy collective, book design Solomon Telingater. 1st edition. Cover stained. Some typical traces of use. Band en schutbladen wat gevlekt. Enkele gebruikelijke gebruikssporen voor Russische boeken: achterin is met balpen burocratisch ingewikkeld een verkoopprijs geschreven. Binding and endpapers a bit stained. Some usual traces of use for Russian books: on the last page a sales price was written with ballpoint pen in a bureaucratically complicated way. A book that dates back to the 'free' Russian period - but the three cartoonists who worked together under the acronym Kukryniksy and the designer Telingater enjoyed a successful career during the Stalin era and afterwards. Parody poet Alexander Grigorievich Archangelsky died of tuberculosis in 1938.
