Alessandri was a lawyer during the Renaissance who later distanced himself from his profession due to his disillusionment with governmental corruption, and turned to the study of the subjects of this work: philology, antiquities and folk law. With textual commentary by André Tiraqueau, Denis Godefroy, Christophorus Colerus and Nicolas Mercier. An excellent copy of the second volume. Fine.
