(1740-1810) was an extremely creative inventor and entrepreneur who successfully patented many of his inventions. This very rare work describes and illustrates the possible various applications of his mechanical drawing instrument, the rolling parallel ruler, which could accurately reproduce scaled drawings for any number of purposes. Here splendidly illustrated by large scale engravings of human anatomy, profiles, projections, architectural details, landscapes, etc. Engraved plates by Jan Punt, C. de Huyser and C. Bogerts.
