Publisher's original one-quarter red morocco leather, spine with four raised bands lettered in gilt in one compartment and with 6 decorative gilt panel lines, over thick marbled boards, lg 8vo. This volume is a general review of zoology by a well-known Mexican herpetologist often referred to as ""the Father of Mexican Herpetology"". There is a short section on reptiles and amphibians in the volume. The text is in Spanish. The only ownership mark is an old oval name stamp of 'Libreria de Educacion' on the bottom corner of the title page. There are also a few neat marginal ink annotations in the text - these appear to be corrections to the text so they may have come from an errata sheet. Rare work seldom offered.
