Das Furlines at Cbgb. See Them Live! Show Flyer
New York, Das Furlines/CBGB, Publisher, 1987. Unbound. no date, presumed 1987. Single sheet, 8 ½ by 11 inches. Printed on a single side only. Images of the band members present. A flyer for a show featuring the punk polka new wave band, Das Furlines, playing at the legendary concert venue, CBGB in New York City. Das Furlines was an all-woman punk polka band that celebrated German culture, although with a fair bit of irony. They performed covers of the 1960s group, the Monks, as well as a few of their own songs. Primarily active from 1985 to 1990, they never released an album of their own, but did release a cookbook. They were profiled by People magazine in 1987 (this is alluded to on the flyer) and were shown on a short-lived MTV program hosted by Andy Warhol. GOOD+ condition. Minor toning, with minor curling and creasing along the extremities. Two faint horizontal fold creases present. Good .

 , Out Pinback
Out Pinback
No Place, No publisher. Unbound. Out Pinback. No producer, place or date. Presumed early 1970s. Dayglow orange pinback with stickpin style back. 1 inch in diameter. A counterculture pinback proclaiming "Out" in black lettering against a bright orange pinback. While it's tempting to say this is LGBTQ+ related, "out" meant a variety of things in countercultural slang in the 60s and 70s. So why not buy it and wear it with pride! VERY GOOD condition. Minor fading to the face, with an area of darkening to the right side. Reverse a bit rusted. Very Good .

Tolentino, Noel; Robson, Seth; Darby et al.
Bunnyhop. Old Age and Nostalgia. Issue Number 9
San Francisco, Bunnyhop Communications, 1998. Wraps. Small folio. Black and white illustrations throughout. Later issue of this zine providing a look at the "fluffier aspects of pop culture and alternative music." Despite the slick production and design, Bunnyhop was all zine. Created by Noel Tolentino and Seth Robson, Bunnyhop caused a bit of a kerfuffle when they used a character created by Matt Groening on the cover of their first issue. This issue focuses on nostalgia as relating to pop culture and consumerism. Of note is a lengthy interview with Gary Coleman, perhaps under the guise of nostalgia for old TV shows. VERY GOOD+ condition. Minor fading and edgewear, with a hint of soiling at the upper corner. Very Good .

Tosches, Nick, Slant. Issue Nine. Spring, 1997
Tosches, Nick
Slant. Issue Nine. Spring, 1997
Philadelphia, Urban Outfitters, 1997. Tabloid. Large format tabloid newspaper. 32 pp. Color art throughout. Last issue of this newspaper style work that sought to adopt a zine style look. Created by the retail clothing store, Urban Outfitters, the paper embraced an anti-consumerism consumerism tone, using the trendy 1990s jaded/ironic worldview to subtly scorn everything, while branding itself as alternative to the mainstream (as alternative as a multinational corporation can be). The zine/paper used noted comic artists and graphic designers for much of the work. This issue with a piece by Nick Tosches, among others. Art by Ward Sutton, etc. GOOD condition. Horizontal and vertical fold creases present, with some tearing at the intersection of the folds. General toning. Minor soiling. Minor chipping and tearing along the edges. Good .
