Etching/engraving on laid paper, by Claude-Augustin Duflos after Jean Baptiste Bénard, published ca. 1750 by Jean-Baptiste Crépy, with an eight-line caption in French by Meslé, sheet size 375 x 270 mm., cropped within platemark, a sharp crease in the caption below the image (from previous framing?), a small tear in the caption, some faint stains in the margins, the top half of the sheet faintly moldy.The man, a hunter or poacher as indicated by the gun and game on the floor, embraces the woman who holds a spindle and distaff. A boy with a small dog and a girl with a toy windmill are also present.Literature: LeBlanc 182.

The nanny is talking with the girl standing in front of the fireplace, holding up a blanket, on the left a little boy holds up a spoon to the baby in the nanny's arms.Literature: LeBlanc 187. According to the British Museum, this print was advertised in 'Mercure' of October 1759.

A herd of various livestock (cow, bull, horse, donkey, sheep, goat and pig) are drinking from a fountain, a male and a female shepherd close by. Title page to a series of eight animal prints. Etching on hand laid paper, sheet size 183 x 130 mm., platemark 179 x 126 mm., etching by Pieter Bodding van Laer (1599-1642) after his own design. Dated 1636, and with a long Latin dedication to Fernando Afán de Ribera, 3rd Duke of Alcalá de los Gazules. The Alchemist
An alchemist in his workshop. He is sitting in the middle of the composition, gazing at the viewer. His assistant is standing beside him carrying a vase, trying to draw the alchemist's attention. Scattered in the large room are books, leaves of paper, bottles, cages are hanging from the ceiling as well as other curiosa. Inscribed on the bottom: 'Tiré du Cabinet de M.r le Brun. / D'apres le Tableau Original de Thomas Wyck de la Grandeur de 24 pouces sur 22 de large. / A Paris chez Chereau rue des Mathurins au coin de celle de Sorbonne'; signed on the bottom of the composition: 'Thomas Wyck Pinxit / L. Le Grand. Sculp.'. From J.B.P. Le Brun, Galerie des Peintres Flamands, Hollandais et Allemands, published in Paris and Amsterdam between 1792 and 96. An instrument maker is seated on a chair in his workshop, holding one of his lutes from the neck, in the other hand he is holding a sharp pointed knife. A man stands right next to him, gesturing with his hands probably pointing at the lute. He is wearing an apron and appears to be the master discussing the design of the instrument with the instrument maker. A river landscape is visible through the opened window in the background. In the workshop other instruments are depicted: the stringless body a viol stands on the bottom right on the right of the picture whereas violins and other lutes are hanging from the ceiling. Titled above: 'MENSELYK BEDRYF. / DE INSTRUMENTMAKER. / 't Is goed of kwaad, Naar 't oogwit staat.
