Shepherds and animals
Two etchings after Berchem and Cornelis Visscher: 'Landscape with woman seated surrounded by farm animals' and 'Resting place' where travellers rest beside a fountain. Compositions mirrored in respect to the originals, slightly larger including address of the publisher. Plates numbered above on the left: 'T.20' and in the middle: 'VIII', addresses at the bottom:'Negotium Caesarea Franciscae AA.LL. Academiae excudit / Cum Gratia et Privilegio S.C. Majestatis.' thus these paltes were issued in Augsburg in the second hlaf of the eighteenth century. l Etching and engraving on paper, trimmed to plate mark: total: 188 x 293 mm and 195 x 300 mm; damp stains and foxing, first plate paper rather cooked; both are not described in Hollstein.

Title page to a suite of prints with animals by Philippe Jacques de Loutherbourg: two shepherds are resting sitting on a rock in the left foreground; beside them a standing donkey and a dog. Descending on the right another shepherd with his horses. On the right, in the distance, mountains. On the left inscription carved on a wall, upon which a stone lion is resting: 'Ire SUITE / D'ANIMAUX / INVENTES ET DESSINES / PAR J. P. LOUTHERBOURG / PEINTRE DU ROY'. Lettered below: 'Se vend á Paris chez Lenfant rue.... la rue des Lavandiers'l Etching on paper with broad margins; plate mark: 234 x 325 mm, total: 294 x 399 mm; state II/2 (?); two holes in the upper margin, from binding, some dirt yet very nice impression; Nagler 14, LeBlanc 1-6

A cat on the opened window, a dog in the right foreground. l Etching and engraving on paper, trimmed to plate; total: 168 x 210 mm; thin paper, small tear towards the top, foxing and dirt, some mold on the right margin, especially on the bottom corner, however very interesting impression.
