A Very Good copy: tight binding, clean text with almost no foxing, contemporary owner`s names on endpapers. No sign of repair or restoration. Modest wear to covers at tips, no significant fading or soiling. A lovely little book. Very Good.

(30), 714, (1) pp. errata page at rear, 8vo, contemporary full leather binding with impressed armorial emblem, four raised bands, gilt titles and decorations to spine. This copy bears the armorial bookplate of "Gower Earl Gower". A VG copy with no major flaws. The binding is worn at the extremities, as would be expected given its age, and has a "crackled-shellac" finish, however the joints and hinges are sound and strong. Contents are complete and in excellent condition, all endpapers appear to be present and original. A very attractive copy of this scarce book. Very Good.

Three-quarters navy leather with gilt spine titles and decorations, over beige buckram boards, marbled endpapers. Original owner's name "Evelyn Cochrane" and original Calgary, AB bookstore stamp on half-title page. Mrs. Cochrane was the wife of prominent Albertan rancher William Cochrane. Binding and contents are Nearly Fine: tight and fresh, with slight wear, nicks and minor bumping to the edges of a few leaves. Gilt is very bright. A superb copy in a masterful Chivers binding. Very Good.

Pp. xxiii, 619, frontis plates (Sketch of a Guest-chamber"), 131 illustrations, F appendices, index, errata, large octavo format in dark green buckram with extensive gilt decorations to the front board and spine. Contents are Good with moderate foxing to the preliminary pages up to the frontis, just minor foxing in places elsewhere, but most plates are quite fresh and clean. Buckram and gilt is quite bright overall, but the spine is slightly faded as expected. Average evidence of use to extremities, with short pull-tears to spine and tips worn through. Both inner hinges have been reinforced. A decent copy overall with the flaws mentioned. Fair.

Binding and contents appear to be original with no sign of alteration or repair. Firm binding, clean contents. Paper-covered boards modestly worn and scuffed, backstrip intact. Really a very attractive copy overall. This edition, published by McPhail (not Brewer & McPhail) is rare, with no examples found on WorldCat. Very Good.

Pp. xii, 368, frontis plate "The Pursuit", 140 illustrations, many full-pate plates, index, large octavo format in burgundy full-leather calf fine binding, with gilt rules to front and rear, spine with six compartments (five raised bands) gilt decorations, black spine label with gilt titles, marbled endpapers and page edges. A superb fine binding production. Externally Very Good with expected wear to the tips (boards exposed a bit, moreso at the lower tips), modest wear along spine-edges and spine-ends, but only slight loss. Spine titles very legible. Hinges and endpapers are in excellent condition, not cracked or loose at all. No noticeable odours to the book. The only issue that prevents a Very Good designation is scattered foxing affecting many of the pages, moreso the preliminaries and last few leaves. Some of the plates have some foxing, others none at all. A very handsome copy overall. Digital images availalbe upon request. Good.
