Judy Dothard Simmons, Dorisjean Austin, Marica Ann Gillespie, Sonia Sanchez, Jewelle Gomez, Ntozake Shange, and Audrey B. Chapman. There are some short notes on the contributors. Kesho Yvonne Scott has sandy hair and is light skinned. She went to a local public school and got beatup by black kids who thought she was a snob and acted white. The other "yellow" kids went to Catholic schools. She mar ries a boy husband who goes into the military and she goes back to her parents after the baby is born.
