Each book has an ex-libris plate with the post-Versailles German eagle and the signature of 'David I Jones'. The books have claret coloured cloth boards. These have wear about the edges, the boards are scuffed and marked from handling and storage. They are, however, steady and sure. Volume I: A-Art - the boards have storage wear; the contents have mild foxing fore and aft. Volume II: Arthur-Bunyan (pub: 1909) - good condition. Volume III: Burials-Confessions (pub: 1910) - the boards have shelving wear and knocks to the edges; the contents are mild-mannered. Volume IV: Confirmation-Drama (pub: 1911) - the boards have wear to all edges, seams; the contents are tidy and clean. Volume V (pub: 1912) - the boards are scuffed, worn about, the pages are placid and diligent. Volume VI: Fiction-Hyksos (pub: 1913) - the boards are steady with light wear and knocks; the contents are benign, ready. Volume VII: Hymns-Liberty (pub: 1914) - very light flecks of foxing fore and aft; the boards are scuffed, sound; the pages clean and mild. Volume VIII: Life and Death - Mulla (pub: 1915) - steady, sound boards with some storage wear, scuffing, marks; the contents are healthy and certain. Volume IX: Mundas-Phrygians (pub: 1917) - the boards have some storage-related marks, sunning, wear, they are steady; the contents have splatters of foxing fore and aft, the pages are otherwise contented. Volume X (pub: 1918): Picts-Sacraments - the boards are earnest, assured, they have some light scuffing and wear; the pages are passive, lightly foxed fore and aft, healthy and certain. Volume XI (pub: 1920): Sacrifice-Sudra - the boards have storage knocks, wear, scuffing, they are also sure; the contents have foxing early on and later on but are otherwise diligent, earnest. Volume XII (pub: 1921): Suffering-Zwingli - the spine has storage-related punctures, the boards have scuffing, wear, marks, they are also assured and patient; the contents have flurries for foxing early and later on, however, the pages are clean, clear, studious, competent.
