FLEMING, IAN
You Only Live Twice
Jonathan Cape. 1964, 1st Edition. Hardcover, with dust jacket. 256 pages (complete). In good, smart, elegant condition. This novel was the last Bond to be published during Fleming's life-time. The dustjacket illustration by Richard Chopping was subject to specific demands by Fleming. This meant that Chopping was paid considerably more than for his previous, now iconic, covers. The dustjacket has some wear to all edges and mild tanning to seams. The bottom edge, about the spine, has some insect damage. The price is NOT clipped and states the price as 16 shillings net. This edition does not have a blurb on the front flap. The black cover is in very good, handsome condition. It is neat and tidy with very, very mild shelf marking to the edges. The spine is tight and secure. Inside, the pages are fresh, tight, confident, unmarked by wear or handling, no corner bends. The printing on the cover and spine is fresh. An excellent price for a first edition of this Bond thriller! fk. Good/Fair.
