Original cover design by Howard Leigh retained from the UK edition on the jacket which is not price clipped but has 90% of the spine paper missing. Jacket has pieces of masking tape attached and is otherwise badly worn with long sealed tears. Jacket was in 2 pieces , now in a new protective sleeve. Good+/Vg-/Poor.

Biggles Secret Agent

England, Oxford. 1940, First Edition. Hardcover, 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall. Ill.: Howard Leigh & Alfred Sindall. Book, 1st edition 2nd impression approx1.5 in or 35 mm thick across the back of the spine, Blue boards, missing colour frontis has been replaced with a colour photo copy. Top edge of the compressed page edges was once tinted blue but has faded considerably. Boards are grubby and the front board is heavily creased which has torn pastedown on the inside of the board. Spine is fraying to front leading edge, all corners bumped. Name in ink to front endpaper, library stamp to front endpaper, half-title, title and rear endpapers. Compressed page edges are dirty and there are dirty finger marks to a few pages. Quite hard to find in this early state. Fair+/Good-/No Jacket.
