Full leather binding with diced decoration surrounded by decorative gilt frames on covers and gilt decoration and lettering on the spine, marbled end-papers, plates XVII and XVIII as required. Wear with minor loss on lower part of spine, bumped cover corners. Sound binding. Worm damage on small areas of inner rear cover and in the vertical margin from the rear forward. It is largely confined to the index and the last twenty pages but small hoes extend further forward. One small hole extends throughout most of the pages. Pages are unmarked, there is a pencilled note with owner's details and a date of 1902 at the front. [6], [4], 440, [18], [6]. One volume of the 4-volume set. No dust jacket, as published.
