Marbled endpapers and all edges gilt. 5 Volumes: 282; 358; 345; 386; 376pp. Each volume indexed, and with a list of three types of plates: wood engravings in the text; full page wood engravings; and steel engraved portraits of Goethe, his family, and the characters in his works. Volume I is the life of Goethe by Boyesen, and Gothe's poetry with index of first lines. Volume II is the dramas, Volume III continues drama and begins the prose. Volume IV and V continue prose. The text and illustrations are bright and clean, and the engravings are remarkably fine and precise. Minor edgewear and scuffing. The Works are published in English. Please note that the set will require shipping for approximately 40 lbs. Very good .

This copy does have all thirteen of the second-printing issue points enumerated by Blanck. Very good .
