Edward John Moreton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany (1878 -1957) was an Irish writer and dramatist, notable for his work, mostly in fantasy, short stories, as well as successful plays, novels and essays. He served during the First World War and was involved in Irish polictics afterwards. His writing is noted for the lush tapestry of language, conjuring images of people, places, and things which cannot possibly exist, yet somehow ring true. Lord Dunsany, was a major influence on the work of J. R. R. Tolkien, H. P. Lovecraft, Ursula K. Le Guin and others. CONDITION Blue bds are clean and unworn, 288 pages with frontis portrait.
