A unique copy inscribed on the title page "with corrections and annotations by the author, Charles Hardwick 1876", also an inscription inside the front cover "J A Eastwood, 24 April 1877. from the Author". Numerous notes and corrections in ink throughout. Plates with dampstains to lower corners.

The plate at page 1 has come loose at some time and been put back in using sellotape which has left a slight mark down the inner margin. This tape has been removed and the plate neatly re-fixed. Owner's very small neat details at head of title. Overall a very good, clean and sound copy. The hall is best known for preserving the skull of the 17th Century Martyr Edward Ambrose Barlow.
