Ten tijde van de uitgave was dit boek vier keer duurder dan de reguliere uitgave. De titelpagina is gedrukt in kleur, de illustraties in bordeauxrood. Verder nog versierde en met goudopdruk opgehoogde hoofdletters. Fraaie bibliofiele uitgave met illustraties van F. Bac, Destez, H.Y., Adrien Marie, Mars, Napoli, Rochegrosse, Roy en Scott. Still a beautiful binding with gilt details, especially along the spine. Five raised band on the spine. Morocco title shield on spine. Gilt edges with rich inner dentelle and marbled endpapers with at the inner margin added paper. Signed by Courmont in gilt on the inside of the front board (lower right side). All edges gilt. Engraved title page, full page portrait and a further 74 half page engravings by Crispin van de Passe. Lower part of page 1 heavily browned, a few other pages less so. A few spots of foxing and some small spots as to be expected for a book this old. Contents overall in good condition. More photo's available upon request.
