Bibliophile reprint of Agricola's (= Georg Bauer, 1494-1555) famous work, this being the German edition of 1961, beautifully produced by the Agricola Gesellschaft. The original Latin work of 1556 is the pre-eminent early work on metallurgy and the various forms of mining. Contains all of the illustrations and initials of the original latin version (294 in total), which were based on Agricola's own drawings of the mining processes and phenomena he personally observed. Loosely inserted is the German laudation of Georg Frabricus to Agricola. A very nice work. Fine/No jacket as issued.
