A flier issued by the Socialist Workers Party, promoting Willie Mae Reid for Vice-President of the United States, announcing her speaking date of Sept. 25. Reid, a politician and author, ran for the office in 1976, with Peter Camejo running for president. With a poorly reproduced photo of Reid. GOOD condition. Small piece torn off from the flier at the upper right corner, with some associated staining and discoloration. Minor staining and soiling, with a few faint fold creases, minor wrinking and other small creases. Good .

Large photo from the conference, with a panel of speakers sitting in front of large images of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky. A flier advertising the World Conference of Revolutionary Youth at the Paris Hotel, noting that there would be dancing after, proving that even socialists like to have fun. GOOD condition. Connections was a paper from Madison, Wisconsin, published from 1967 to 1969 and harnessing a militant college campus energy to discuss the sometimes violent confrontations that occurred between police and protesters in Madison (see Insiders History of the Vietnam Era Underground Press, Part 2 for previous information). This with a lengthy article on Black history, focusing on activists and leaders such as Booker T. Washington, W.E.B. DuBois, and Marcus Garvey, among others. Also featured is a centerfold spread of poetry by d.a. levy, including part of his "suburban monastery death poem. Another page also has some levy poetry. Levy killed himself in late November of 1968. Rear page is devoted to the San Francisco Mime Troup of San Francisco, at a show in Madison, Wisconsin. This includes many photos of the performance, along with associated words. FAIR/GOOD condition. A large piece of the paper torn from the top leaf 5/6, resulting in some loss of text in the Black history article. The centerfold pages have their lower corners torn off, with some loss of text to one levy poem. A few other tears present in the interior. Fold crease present, with moderate to heavy toning and some soiling. Moderate chipping, tearing and creasing along the extremities. Fair .

As an early proponent of the underground comix movement, EVO published work by R. Crumb, Trina Robbins (neither in this issue) and others, as well as publishing a paper devoted to comix. This issue with front art by Andy Warhol; two brief statements by Abbie Hoffman and Rick Rubin, along with the announcement of the death of the Yippies and the birth of the Youth International Party; news on the trial of the Black Panther 21 in New York, theater, etc. GOOD condition.
