In stiff illustrated boards size 26 by 21 cm. 132 pages. The house magazine" or Regimental Journal of the British 17th Lancers cavalry regiment (The Duke of Cambridge's Own) serving in India just before World War One. Illustrated throughout with black and white photographs sketches and cartoons. A fascinating collection of news items sports and social activities war office information on promotions travel and military history. Includes an item on Douglas Haig and some amusing spoof advertising. This copy includes a hand-written satire based on an advertisement for a fictitious health tonic "Avago" which seems to have been in the possession of the original owner of the White Lancer and probably the draft for one of the joke advertisements. Illustrated in pen and ink. Fair condition overall though the book has some edge wear to the text a couple of pages with minor loss and has at one time been exposed to damp. Images available.".
