EX-LEGIONNAIRE 1384.
The Arab Patrol.
Sampson, Low & Marston, London [1935?]. Hardcover. Undated and probably a reprint. 8vo. 310pp. Black cloth lettered in gold at the spine. With sixteen photographic plates. Boards very lightly marked and the backstrip a little faded. A trace of light browning and spotting to the endpapers. A slightly dusty yet very good copy, lacking a dust wrapper. An uncommon account by 'Ex-Legionnaire 1384' [i.e. David Harvey John Jones, later John Barrington] of his behind-the-scenes activities in Algeria (the author was an Englishman serving with the French Foreign Legion, he deserted in Syria 1926 with several comrades, was captured and eventually released and returned to England). Very Good/No Jacket.

With three full-page tipped-in Whistler illustrations in colour and a further sixteen line drawings. A very good copy in non-price-clipped dust wrapper, lightly tanned at spine panel, edges minimally rubbed and with several tiny nicks but no loss.
