Two faint spots to the front cover, contents bright, clean, and unmarked; fine. Not in Peel. Corresponds to OCLC #1007822401. Rare in commerce. Antoine D'Eschambault was a French-Canadian cleric, and historian. "Born at St-Lazare on 21 May 1896, he was educated at St. Boniface College and Laval University, and was ordained a priest in 1921. He studied for three years at the Vatican and Poland then served as Secretary to the Archbishop of St. Boniface from 1924 to 1934 and Chancellor of the Archdiocese from 1934 to 1966. An active historian, d’Éschambault was for many years President of the St. Boniface Historical Society, was the Manitoba representative on the Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada, and served on the Historic Sites Advisory Board of Manitoba (1946-1958). He published several books including Eugenical Sterilization (1936), Essais historique (1961) and Petite Histoire du voyageur (1971). He died at Winnipeg on 18 May 1960 and was buried the St. Boniface Cathedral Cemetery." [Source: Manitoba Historial Society].
