Scuffing to bands, edges, spine head and foot, but still stands proudly on the shelf on its own, with marbled endpapers, and with an impressive array of black-and-white engravings, including at frontis, tissue-guarded, and also hand-colored fold-out illustrations of ladies' fashion circa 1870. 820 pp. and with period advertisements galore. The hand-colored foldouts are remarkably vibrant of color, with a few splits to folds, abraded of edges, some tissue guards torn. Might be missing a final endpaper. 820 pp. The Lady's Friend was an American women's magazine founded and edited by Mrs. Henry Peterson (Sarah Webb Peterson), published in 10 volumes only from 1864 until 1873.Member, I.O.B.A., C.B.A., and adherent to the highest ethical standards. . . .
