Leigh Hunt was impressed by her early volume Poems (1835), and in his poem ‘Blue Stocking Revels’ teasingly wrote: ‘Then came young Twamley, nice sensitive thing / Whose pen and whose pencil give promise like Spring (Miller, 89) ...’
