Book, [2], 34, [4] ads. pages, fold-out map of the Protestant Vallies of the Piemont to frontis. 12 engraved views of various locations (with guards). The map and plates had appeared previously in Acland's work 'The Glorious Recovery by the Vaudois of the Valleys, etc.', published by John Murray in 1827. The illustrations are entitled Lausanne, The Col de Bonhomme, Near Mont Cenis, Arch at Susa, Salabertraun, Prali, The Serre le Cruel, The Balsi, Pra Del Tor, The Rock of Castel Luzzo, La Tour, La Tour & Lucerne. Publisher's beige moire cloth soiled and worn, with split to spine, and remains of title label to spine, folded map has creases to edge, and spotting, some offsetting to title page, some spotting and offsetting to plates, guards.
