All of these items are rare in institutions, most only listed at Nottingham or The Senate House Library, the first two at the Bodliean, the last with no locations traced. This period of local elections, just prior to the Great Reform Act of 1832, were corrupt and knockabout affairs, often dominated by a small number of wealthy patrons and typified by scandalous and frequently vicious publications with thinly disguised libellous and insulting remarks on the opposing candidates.
