Folio. 2 volumes in 3. pp. clxvi, 215, [appendix of genealogy with 12 pedigrees, some folding] 336: xvi, 405: xvi, 402: 81 plates and maps as called for with the addition of 12 uncoloured views from Daniel's Voyage Round Great Britain, attractive watercolours of Pevensey, Hailsham and Church at Brighton, a pencil drawing of Fletching,a view of the Castle Sleephill, Isle of Wight and a print of the attack of the French fleet. The armorials in the margins are all coloured by hand. Half crushed brown morocco by Zaehnsdorf, top edges gilt. A lovely large set, 362 x 285 mm. with wide margins and complete in all respects with Volume 1 and the original publication of Volume 2 part one [1819] were almost entirely lost in a fire at the publisher's office in 1819, with only around 200 of the first and 60 of the second surviving, having been distributed. With the bookplate of [Lady] Violet Beaumont and the manuscript inscription on the first blank end paper of volume 1 "C.W. Taylor Esq. A Presentation Copy March 1815."
