SOUTHERN METROPOLITAN GAS COMPANY
Gas Plug Points for Comfort and Convenience
London c. 1934 12pp, bw ills 21x14, illustrated stapled wraps. Staples rusted, impacting on some pages, fair to good thus. Essentially 'plug and play' technology for gas appliances; with a socket in every room the company's heaters, lamps, irons and kettles could be used anywhere. An attempt to compete with electricity, with - one assumes - limited success.

SPENSERS
Silverlite Petrol-Gas: Its Application and Advantages (no. 29)
London nd. c 1925 16pp, bw ills throughout 27x21, stapled card wraps Staples rusted, very good thus. The Silverlite generator used petroleum as a fuel, converting into gas by agitating the liquid with paddles (!), with pressure provided by weights. It was used to generate power in buildings without access to domestic supply, such as stately homes and agricultural colleges. It also seems to have been popular across the Empire, with examples here in the Middle East and West Africa.

Stanley Tools (1923) c. 1994 136pp, ills throughout, several pages in full colour. 29x22, decorated boards Couple of small marks on boards, very good thus. Nice facsimile edition of typically striking Stanley catalog. The English (rather than US) spelling of 'Catalogue' is used on the title page, for reasons which are not clear as the publication is priced in dollars and is for the US market.
