Chapter 4 covers the historical background to treaties including the impact of the Indian Act, residential school policy, and the Great Depression. The remaining chapters explain the impact of socio-economic factors, and the commitment required to implement and fulfill the treaties. Various appendices complete the report. An excellent overview of the importance of treaties in Canadian history and law.".
