BRINKS, KUNO,
Harbour view with the 'Heron'
A group of dock workers is loading or unloading a delivery of metal beams from the steam ship 'Heron' moored in the harbour. Several other ships in the background.Etching and drypoint on wove paper, sheet size 204 x 264 mm. Signed in pencil in the lower left. Printed on a sheet with a fragment of another etching by Brinks on the verso. This is also a harbour scene, with a large passenger ship and several smaller (fishing and delivery) vessels. The fragment is dated [19]30, so the harbour scene with the Heron is probably of a later date.Kuno Brinks (Bussum 1908 - 1992 Amsterdam) was an etcher, engraver, illustrator and draughtsperson. He also deisnged stamps and book bindings. In excellent condition, but cropped within platemark (no loss of image).
