Getrouwelijk van nieuws overgezet door N.S.P.A. Hier is ook achter by-gevoegt de verklaering van eenige bezondere Woorden, die in 't Concili gebruykt worden.
Antwerpen, Fredrick van Metelen, 1684, 12mo., full parchment spitsel binding with handwritten title on spine, {6 blank pages]+436+[18]+[4 blank pages] pp., the parchment covering the spine is damaged along the hinges, some stains and smudges, some small holes (not lined up), darkened edges, some pencil markings in the margins, several handwritten notes in Dutch (in different hands) on the first few blank pages, including two ownership signatures: J. Wille (?) 12-10-'05, De Vries 15-1-'64. Engraved half title: Antwerpen, Balthasar Moretus, 1657, woodcut illustration on titlepage, decorative initials. Not found in any Dutch libraries (september 2020).l N.S.P.A. is Nicolaus Stenius (N. van der Steen). The Council of Trent, held between 1545 and 1563 in Trent, was the 19th ecumenical council of the Catholic Church. Prompted by the Protestant Reformation, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. According to a note on the flyleaf, two bishops were caught in adultery and two were murdered.
