BOLTON, ROBERT
Some Generall Directions for a Comfortable Walking with God: Delivered in the Lecture at Kettering in Northhamptonshire, with enlargement, bound with A Discourse about the State of True Happiness
London, Felix Kyngston, for Edmund Weaver NONE. 1625. (hardcover) Near fine. 391, 215pp. 12mo. Presumed first edition. Rebound in brown calf, title stamped, in bright gilt, to spine. Original dark brown calf leather boards, rubbed, still in exceptional condition. 5 raised bands. Some underlining and marginalia throughout, with notes and a paper paste down (tasteful, small) book plate to the front fixed end paper. Pages show light staining, markings, as may be anticipated, given the age, and there is a name eloquently penned to the leaf between sermons. Solid, square binding, corners lightly bumped. Lovely copy. Robert Bolton, Bachelor in Divinity, and Preacher of Gods Word at Broughton in the same county. At London, Imprinted by Felix Kyngston, for Edmund Weaver, and are to be sold at his shop at the great North doore of Pauls Church. 1625.
