Oblong 4to., First Edition, with a frontispiece and numerous photographs and diagrams (the majority full-page) in the text; cloth, upper board and backstrip lettered in silver, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper. Warship Monographs. Monograph Two. The five battleships of this class - Queen Elizabeth, Barham, Malaya, Valiant, Warspite - were the last designed under Sir Philip Watts as Director Naval Construction. All served in the latter stages of WWI (Queen Elizabeth controversially at the Dardanelles) and with distinction (especially Warspite) throughout WWII which all save Barham, a tragic early loss, survived.
