Sm. 8vo., Second Edition, First Impression, with a coloured frontispiece, 128 fine coloured plates, 117 plates in monochrome and pictorial endpapers, small neat signature on half-title; original series binding of green coarse-grain pictorial cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in gilt and black, gilt back, radial corners, blue sprinkled edges, a near fine copy in unclipped dustwrapper (retaining original price of 12/6), the latter lightly age-soiled and browned at backstrip. Lovely copy of a scarce title in this much sought-after series. First published in 1925, Jenkins' mammoth compilation was the first illustrated guide to all our fish since 1884. This second edition is revised by the author with new appendix and text drawings. Very scarce in this condition. Marren, p.158.
