Royal Aeronautical Society ‘As a celebration of the end of hostilities, the Editor of The Piloteer compiled a special Air Force Annual which was published in early 1919 with the appetising title of ‘Air Pie’. While mostly light hearted in content, the publication included messages from the great and the good commentating on the present and future of the RAF.’ With contributions by G.K. Chesterton, H.G. Wells, Marie Corelli, Thomas Hardy, W.H. Davies, Walter de la Mare, Eden Phillpots; illustrators include Muirhead Bone, W. Heath Robinson, W.L. Wyllie, Frank Brangwyn, Major Augustus E. John, Paul Nash, Eric H. Kennington, A.J. Munnings, H.M. Bateman, Gaudier Brzeska, John Hassall, C.R.W. Nevinson, etc.
