It is the story of a missing heiress who was presumed abducted, after her car and handbag were found abandoned, now twelve years later Detective Superintendent Marsh returns to the district where he had worked on the case as a young sergeant. The girl's body had never been found and he is determined to re-open the case and when his enquiries leads him to the one person who holds the key, a terrifying chain of events are set in motion and for the girl's family it might have been better if the past had remained buried and the mystery left unsolved. The Canadian author is the father of the singer Neil Young and this is his first crime fiction novel and features Inspector Matthew 'Matteesie' Kitologitak, a full blooded Inuk who is one of the few Inuit officers in the Mounties.
