A history and account of the various naval battles fought between the United States and Great Britain during the War of 1812, as well as accounts of the US Navy off the coast of Algiers. POOR condition. Front cover and first endpaper DETACHED from the text block. Moderate uneven fading and scuffing to the covers, with some soiling, staining and discoloration. Spine and extremities bumped, scuffed and worn. A 2 by 4 inch piece torn from the lower corner of the frontis illustration. Faint owners' signatures present. Text block toned, with scattered soiling, staining and foxing. A few leaves tenuously attached to the text block. Poor .

A single issue on the Crimean War and covering topics such as the British Crimean troops back in London, various speeches to the troops, a recounting of the Battle of Alma etc. Portraits of General Bentinck and Colonel Teesdale at the front. In GOOD condition. Moderate to heavy curling and creasing along the extremities. A few minor tears along the fore edges. Paper backstrip chipped and worn in many places with it and the signatures beneath split at the head to about 2 ½ inches down the spine. Two ink stamps on the front cover, perhaps from a salesman. Minor soiling. Very minor toning and scattered soiling to the interior. Minor creasing. Several pages unopened. Good .

Map measures approximately 32 inches wide by 16 inches tall. A detailed map of the northern section of the Italian Front during World War I, 'showing the farthest advance of the Italians and the battle line in 1917. Compiled from military maps of Washington, London, Paris and Rome.' Depicts cities, highways, railroads, forts and fortified places, etc. Map in GOOD+ condition, with the folder in FAIR condition. Map now separated from the folder, originally tipped in to the inside rear cover. Gray covers rather creases and faded, with minor soiling and staining. Minor to moderate chipping and tearing, with minor loss along the folder extremities. Small bookseller's label to the lower front. The map has minor browning along the extremities, with a few small tears at a few of the fold creases. Small ¼ chip missing from the upper left margin. Good .

Finely ribbed dark brown cloth. 716; 958 pp. First volume provides a report giving the list of names of soldiers in all the various New Hampshire regiments, companies, including heavy artillery, providing their residences, dates of muster and general remarks, all pertaining to the Civil War. These remarks include mentioning whether killed or died of disease, desertion, mustered out, etc. The second volume contains an extensive military history of the various New Hampshire regiments and militias from 1623 to 1861. This includes names of soldiers, leaders, various battle accounts, etc. The second part of the second volume provides regimental histories of regiments participating in the Civil War. GOOD condition. Ex-library with spine labels and interior pastedowns/markings. General fading to the cloth, with minor soiling and scuffing. Heavy chipping, tearing, splitting and fraying to the cloth along the hinges and spine tips, resulting in some loss of cloth to the backstrips. Text block solid, with toning to the paper and minor scattered soiling. /Good.
