(Frontispice a fine large Mississippi steamer) THE GENUINE FIRST EDITION, PRECEDING THE US EDITION BY FIVE(!!!) DAYS. Samuel Longhorne Clemens account if his days on this romantic river as a Steamboat Pilot. He composed this work from articles he wrote from 1875 for the "Atlantic Monthly". It is considered as an outstanding account of the River Boat way of life. Some mild foxing, spine top and foot of orig. red, decorated cloth a trifle worn, spine darkened. 1St. flyleaf torn out. This edition is much rarer ,produced in a much lesser quantity as the US edition. Fine.

After a lengthy introduction this fine and scarce work commences. A good copy, some unobstrusive light waterstains, light foxing in places. A very desirable copy of a scarce work in an early edition. Fine.
