Bi-folded election broadside printed on light-blue card stock, upon the occasion of Mayer's campaign for a federal seat in the 1979 federal election for the constituency of Portage-Marquette under the banner of the Progressive-Conservatives. Features a photograph of the candidate in black-and-white to the centre of the front cover, outlines their leadership positions, his family and background information, and various election promises. Faint crease to the centre where it has been folded, else, near fine. Unrecorded in OCLC. Does not appear amongst the holdings at Peel, University of Manitoba Archives & Special Collections, BAC/LAC, et al. Charles Mayer would successfully win the election, and serve as the MP for Portage-Marqutte (later Lisgar-Marquette) from 1979 until his defeat in the defining general election of 1993. He would serve in the cabinet of Brian Mulroney as the Minister of State for the Canadian Wheat Board, Minister of State for Grains and Seedoils, and later as Minister of Western Economic Diversification and finally as the Minister of Agriculture.
