¶ Abram Games (1914-96) was one of the 20th century's most innovative and important graphic designers. His remarkable career spanned 60 years, during which time he was responsible for some of the most enduring images ever produced in Britain. Games produced hundreds of posters as well as stamps, book jackets and emblems, including those for the Festival of Britain (1951) and BBC Television (1953). Other clients included British Airways, the Financial Times, Guinness, Shell and Transport for London. During World War II he was appointed Official War Poster Designer and designed 100 posters. His personal philosophy of "maximum meaning, minimum means" gave all his works a distinctive conceptual and visual quality. This book, accompanying a major exhibition at the Design Museum, features 180 colour illustrations of his best-known work as well as many examples of unpublished designs from his own extensive archive.

¶ GERBINO Maria Teresa ; pittrice (n. Modena 1928). Si e diplomata al Liceo artistico e all'Accademia di Venezia. Ha avuto come maestro di pittura Cadorin. Con altri artisti ha realizzato la cartella Vuei cjanta inmo une volte. TARCISIO BUSETTO ; Nacque a Gaiarine (Treviso) nel 1934. Comincio a dipingere negli anni Cinquanta e negli anni Sessanta si accosto alle tecniche calcografiche e litografiche, specializzandosi, nel 1967-1968, alla notissima scuola di Urbino. Pittore parco e riflessivo, impegnato nella continua meditazione sulla condizione umana che rappresenta, allegoricamente, sia nelle opere da cavalletto come in opere calcografiche di sottile e raffinata fattura, B. fu anche autore di grandi teleri religiosi, tra i pochi artisti in grado di rendere credibilmente il senso del sacro nel nostro tempo. Di grande impatto le due ampie composizioni per la chiesa di Albina, e le tele per Nove e San Lorenzo di Vittorio Veneto, opere nelle quali, ad un'alta capacita esecutiva, si unisce una approfondita meditazione sui grandi esempi del passato, tra espressionismo nordico e Cinquecento veneto. Tra le sue opere calcografiche sono da citare almeno Fiumi come specchi, realizzata a Sacile, dove l'artista abitava, in collaborazione con il poeta Leonardo Sinisgalli; I sogni di Pulcinella (1978), icastica allegoria dei vizi umani, e Open Poort, realizzata nel 1979 con il poeta e critico d'arte fiammingo Remi De Cnodder. La sua attivita espositiva comincio nel 1958, concretizzandosi in rare ma significative occasioni, come per esempio le mostre negli anni 1976-1977 presso gli Istituti italiani di cultura di Bruxelles ed Amsterdam. Mori a Pordenone nel 1991. Tra il dicembre del 1993 e il gennaio del 1994 una mostra antologica, presso la galleria Sagittaria del Centro iniziative culturali Pordenone, ha realizzato un'ampia sintesi della sua attivita, esponendo disegni, olii e incisioni.
