Illustration of a large capitalist standing on the backs of others at the center right of the paper. An event flier for a lecture/discussion of capitalism and its associated ills, especially in relation to events in Chile. The speakers were two economists, Douglas Doud and Patricio Barrueto, and also included music performed by Rafael Manriquez. Held at the La Pena Cultural Center, founded in 1975 in response to the 1973 coup in Chile. The center sponsors art and multicultural events, with a focus on the culture of Chile. GOOD condition. Five areas of paper loss to the reverse, from either removed tape or glue. This renders the paper very thin in those spots and rather translucent. Minor wrinkling and soiling. Good .

A notice and manifesto of sorts, announcing the November Action Committees and their efforts to bring an end to the Vietnam War. The piece takes colleges to task for supporting the war effort by taking money for research, and also criticizes liberals for not doing enough. The group also asserts thar the NLF and Provisional Revolutionary Government are the legitimate government of South Vietnam. One subtitle reads: "MIT: Research for DEATH." Printed on both sides, with bilingual text: Spanish on one side, English on the other. A flier for a demonstration to stop evictions at the International Hotel in San Francisco. Given that the last tenants were evicted in August, 1977, it appears this demonstration may have been a last ditch effort. The flier describes public support for the cause, and gives a list of four demands The International Hotel was a hotel located in the Manilatown section of San Francisco, and provided low income housing to mostly elderly Filipino residents. Beginning in the late 1960s, developers sought to evict its residents in order to build a parking garage. Students, residents and city activists organized and protested for years against the eviction efforts, including poet Al Robles. GOOD condition. The English side has a strip of white paper glued along the top edge, obscuring some of the large captions. The paper bears a partial handwritten note that doesn't appear related to the flier. Minor wrinkling/creasing. Good .
