GILL, S. S. (EDITED BY)
The Stress Analysis of Pressure Vessels & Pressure Vessel Components
London, England: Pergamon Press, 1970. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. Illustrated by. Graphs; This book is in Very Good condition and has a Very Good- dust jacket . The book and its contents are in generally clean, bright condition. There is some rippling to the spine of the book due to the weight of the text block. The text pages are clean and bright with the exception of some ground-in dirt to all three edges of the text block. The dust jacket has several small edge tears, nicks and some ground-in dirt along with a two inch tear to the top front spine joint. "A pressure vessel is designed to hold liquids or gases at substantially higher or lower pressures than the ambient pressure. A high pressure difference requires a correct design in order to avoid catastrophic failures. The Stress Analysis of a Pressure Vessel app is an example of how you can design a tool for checking a family of components with a parameterizable geometry. The purpose of the app is to determine if the vessel will be able to sustain the applied internal pressure without exceeding a specified limit on the volume fraction of the material, which has exceeded the yield limit. The app solves for orthotropic plasticity using the Hill Orthotropic Criterion." (Comsol) ; Vol. 3. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket .

 HABERMAN, CHARLES M., Vibration Analysis
HABERMAN, CHARLES M.
Vibration Analysis
Columbus, OH: Charles E. Merrill Publishing Company, 1968. 1st Edition; 1st Printing. Hardcover. Graphs; This book is in Very Good+ condition condition and has a Very Good dust jacket. The dust jacket has a couple of semi-closed tears and has some rubbing to the spine ends and joints. "Vibration analysis (or vibration monitoring) is a powerful diagnostic tool for identifying, monitoring and preventing mechanical failures in rotating and reciprocating machinery. It’s an essential component of predictive maintenance programs, allowing technicians to detect developing problems in equipment before they lead to costly unplanned downtime or catastrophic failures. Vibration analysis—a component of condition monitoring systems—utilizes vibration sensors to measure frequencies in an asset and detect abnormalities that may indicate a problem. At its core, vibration analysis is the study of the oscillatory motions of machines and their components around an established equilibrium point." (from IBM). Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket .

HAWKINS, N. (NEHEMIAH) (M.E.)
Hawkins' Indicator Catechism a Practical Treatise for the Use of Erecting and Operating Engineers, Superintendents, Students of Steam Engineering, Etc.
New york City, NY: Theo. Audel & Co, 1903. 3rd Edition. Hardcover. B&W Illustrations; This book is in Near Fine condition. The book and its contents are in clean, bright condition. The text pages are clean and bright. Includes chapters: Preparing Indicator for Use, Reducing Motions, Piping Up Indicator, Taking Indicator Cards, The Diagrams, Figuring Steam Consumption by the Diagram, Revolution Counters, Examples of Diagrams, Indicating Air Compressors, Description of Indicators, etc. "Hawkins' Indicator Catechism, of which this is a newly copyrighted edition, has been before the public for a space of five years, during which time it has attained a considerable sale and has given satisfaction to its purchasers; it has proved its value in building up the studen in a sound knowledge of principles and in the details of indicator practice already thoroughly established." "Nehemiah Hawkins (1833 – January 15, 1928) was an American inventor, publisher and author (pen name Theodore Audel) born in Providence, Rhode Island. He started working with the G&C Merriam Company of Springfield, MA. In Chicago he established a magazine called Steam — soon sold and incorporated into Power — then moved to New York. He was survived by a son and two daughters. He wrote (or commissioned and published under his own name) many of the popular Audel's Guidespopular with engineers and craftsmen and published by Theodore Audel & Company of New York. He sometimes used the pseudonym William Rogers[6] (a likely reference to Roger Williams).". Near Fine .
